Film Club

The Film Club meets at the church on the 3rd Weds of every month. We've been watching the multi-season TV show, 'The Chosen'. It's a dramatisation about the life of Jesus, available online and via an app.

Mainly people from church have been attending the sessions. We have refreshments, watch an episode for about 45 mins and then discuss it afterwards.

The TV series shows the intimate relationships between Jesus and His followers, as well as the many miracles and teachings Jesus did during His 3 years of ministry. We have found that the detailed way these things are shown in the series have really helped us to understand the Jewish context of the Biblical stories, as well as seeing the reality of relationships between all the different characters. The conversations we’ve had have enriched our view of Jesus and the biblical accounts.

We’re now into Series 2 and we’ll be continuing to watch each episode going forwards.

We meet at ECC at 7.30 p.m. and normally finish by 9.00 p.m.
